When walking in downtown Greenville and seeing three cranes and a flurry of construction at the Project One site, recession isn’t the word that comes to mind.
But that’s exactly when Bob Hughes, president of Hughes Development Corp., worked on this mixed-used development at the corner of Main and Coffee streets in the hopes of creating jobs and economic development in a time when most were reeling in their investments and real estate plans.
