Anthony’s Cliffs projects to be sold

February 15, 2012Steve and Penny Carlile may add a hotel, resort and other commercial development to the Cliffs at High Carolina, the newest of Upstate developer Jim Anthony’s projects.
The Carliles, who own a lot at High Carolina near Asheville, said Thursday they plan to acquire the Cliffs Club & Hospitality Group Inc., or ClubCo, through bankruptcy. ClubCo is owned by Anthony and 535 Cliffs members who invested $64 million in development of the Cliffs Communities’ golf courses and other amenities. ClubCo does not own the undeveloped real estate, only the golf club assets.
